A-level Maths and Further Maths Tuition

At Maths6 we specialise in A-level Maths and A-level Further Maths tuition. John (Carmel College, Cardinal Newman College & Cronton Sixth Form College) and Martin (Cardinal Newman College & Formby High School Sixth Form) are the tutors behind Maths6. As experienced and expert A-level Maths and Further Maths tutors we know the curriculum inside out and, unlike lesser-experienced tutors, we are familiar with the common misconceptions that can hinder student learning and progress. Our tutorial sessions are engaging, interactive and stimulating, and will build confidence, develop understanding and add depth to students knowledge.

Maths6 tutorial sessions are delivered online using Microsoft Teams. Tutorial sessions can be delivered to individual students on a 1-to-1 basis or more generally to small groups of students (in a virtual classroom which will never exceed three students). Small group learning is highly effective and can have far more advantages when compared to individual study. In these sessions students benefit from being part of small group dialogue and structured discussions on possible solution strategies. Working in small groups and engaging with others will help to nurture self belief, develop confidence and allow for greater opportunity for feedback. A quick look through our student testimonials will dispel any reservations that prospective students might have about remote learning.

For those who are placed in a small group tutorial (in a virtual classroom of up to three students) then we ensure that ever student works alongside students with similar ability and ambition to them. Therefore, when we group our students together we do this based on their year group (Y12 or Y13), their current level of attainment & their end grade aspirations. To help us with the initial grouping you will be asked at enrolment to choose the option that best describes your aspirations from those which we have set out below. If after a few sessions you wish to move to a different tutorial group, then this is very easily accommodated.

NOTE We can also cater to individual needs, so if there is something missing from this list that you would like help with, please let us know by emailing us at info@maths6.co.uk
